This was inspired by the poem that Munda posted "To Meet the Child I Gave Away", I thank her for reminding me that there's another side...and here's mine. Best

All my life I've wondered, have I seen you on the street?
Or maybe in a restaurant, where I stopped to eat?
Are you in the park, where my children like to play?
Or did you give me directions, when I couldn't find my way?

Have I seen you and not realized those eyes are just like mine?
Have I helped you in my office? Have we worked side by side?
Every time I meet someone, I wonder, could it be?
I don't know her at all, but, did she give birth to me?

Even though I don't know you, I've wondered all my life,
How has your life been? Are you somebody's wife?
Do you have other children? Do you write poetry too?
Do you like to draw and paint? Am I anything like you?

I know you probably want to know if I was taken care of,
Well, I had hugs and kisses and a family full of love,
My parents took great care of me, they always taught me right,
They always helped in keeping all my dreams in sight.

Will we meet someday, for the first time face to face?
And will it finally fill up this endless empty space?
Can we start this over, a grand adventure we'll embark,
Or do you have a new life, of which I'll be no part?

Still I think I'd like to know you & end the wonderment,
This miracle from the heavens that God to me had sent.
Either way I'll tell you, you were an angel from above,
When you gave me to that family to care for and to love.

You have done a beautiful tribute to the parents that raised you. Only one brought up with love could have the feeling you have.

This is wonderful, Best!  I have had friends who were adopted, but I've never had the privilege to see inside them that you've given me here.  I hope some day your questions are answered.

To love another person is to see the face of God.

you were chosen and doubly blessed..the poem is superb and has a nostalgic quality written with the heart..the answers you wonder about are natural but, beware of what you wish for..

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

inot...
They deserve a tribute. They are wonderful parents and couldn't ask for anything more.

Suzanne....
Very lucky indeed.

Sol...
Thanks for the *hugs* and your sweet thoughts.

kcs...
Then again I may never know...And I can live with that too, because I had a wonderful childhood and now, have a wonderful life with my children...thats what matters to me.

dsnyder...
Thank you so much..as this one is truly from the heart.

peg...
Hence, the line...."Or do you have a new life, of which, I'll have no part?" I understand the downside too...but, I can't help but wonder.....

wordancer...
The questions are endless, much more than written here. Thank you.

Best

Kaile...
How could I be bitter towards her, when she gave me a wonderful gift of a warm loving family?

Yu Lan...
Thank you for the sweet words and wishes.

Best
