These wishes may be unconventional,
But my choices were quite intentional
For not all easy things do bless,
But make for softness, and often mess!

I wish that you will know some pains,
That you can appreciate your gains
I wish that you may struggle much.
To gain what you treasure and such.

I wish you energy to burn,
To Help others,and also to Learn
There's so many ways that we can grow,
I hope in the new year, it will show.

I wish that you might see your sin,
That you might feel your need for Him
Who from sin can set you free,
Jesus Christ, our perfect plea.

I wish you a peace that's earned,
By positive efforts and choices yearned
To not only be peace-finders true,
But help to be Peace-Makers, too.

I wish that in good times or bad,
Through inner peace, you'll still be glad
That you have help from up above,
And to always know, that you are Loved!

Dear David; There is so much wisdom in this lovely poem! Growth, we hate to admit, always comes through pain and struggle. We want those we love to never know the pain, but if we truly love, we want the very best happiness for them and that only means overcoming lifes difficulties with dignity and Gods love.
