This poem I wrote yesterday, for a dear, dear friend of mine.. a friend who without the miracles of modern medicine and of heaven above, may not be with me forever. We recently found out his condition has been downgraded, and his time is short, but we are praying for that miracle, and I am trying to be confident that it will come. But the pain of the thought of losing him lingers in my mind all the same. This is for Rowan. I wont show it to him, it's too sad, but I hope that the rest of you enjoy it. Words Cutting deeply like a knife Drawn across the flesh of life. Words threaten to bring change A world of heartbreak and of pain. For in those words are held my friend My love, my life, until the end. I need you more than I need air You rescued me from my despair. But now those words tell how it is I won’t believe, I can't, not this. I hold you tight, wont let you go And so my love, my tears now flow. Your bravery through thick and thin It gives me hope to smile within. And to believe that you’ll be here To share with me the coming years. For I’ve never had a friend like you Your heart and soul to me ring true. Just know this day the way I feel My thoughts, my love, my feelings real. Words, they threaten to take you away But in my heart, I know you’ll stay. You won’t give up without a fight As day slowly passes into night. And should I find myself alone Without you, forced to linger on. You will forever be with me Inside my heart I’ll carry thee. |

This is sad but beauiful. Hope he survives. Life has got to chnage, Nothing stays the same, Soon it will be time, For me to move on. |

Thanks to everybody for the nice comments on the poem. I'm glad that you all like it - it felt good to express myself writing it, and I'm glad that others can appreciate it as well as I can. Thanks! |

Shira, Beautiful poem. It has touched me in the only way that a person that knows can express. Again beautifully done. Straight to, or should I say through, the heart. The White Wolf |
