" I'm and old man now, look at me."
with shaking voice he said
Lady Destiny at his bedside
stroking white hair on his head.

' Yes you are, dear friend.,
and there's much that you have seen.
The wolrd has changed since you were born.'
Said the Fairy Destiny

" I hope when all is done,
when the people look back upon my years,
they see a life of happiness,
and not simply filled with tears."

' Yes, dear friend, they will.
Despite the horros you have known
for though your end seemed often due
your strength and hope you've shown.'

" Do you remember when we touched the Moon?
Now there was something grand.
" One giant leap for Mankind..."
from one small step of man. "

" I was riding horseback,
when I saw my very first car.
now I hear of 'Bullet Trains'
I can't beleive we moved so far."

" And think of all the health thats come,
how many dread diesease,
have halted in their onslaught,
disappeared in healing breeze."

" Many ills still linger,
and hatred seems to glare,
from many power-hungry souls,
those who aught to care."

'I know old friend, its not your fault,
tis the way of sinful men,
they, their women, and their children,
must humbly Love again.'

The Old Man made his Christmas wish
for those in every country...
"That humbly all would learn to Love."
the wish.....of the Twentieth Century.

Oh *sniff* Excellent Wish!  I did enjoy the story in this piece; you tell an interesting tale.  This is a good thinking piece, especially for the Holidays!  I'm thinking of changing my New Year's Resolution!
