"Hello...can you hear me...so far away?"

Heard a song echo through my heart just now,
while I was standing beside the cold, dark window.
Was that your voice resonating across my soul?
Is it you, I see wandering in the stormy night?
Slowly I reach out, tracing pictures in my breath,
haunted by images of the calling past.
Softly, I send your thoughts back to you.
Do their ghostly echoes. . .linger,
in the canyons of your heart?

Hello...can you hear me...so far away?

The storm thunders on;
the winds drown out silent words.
Lighting slashes the dark,
and briefly I see you. . .lost
in the ebony reflections.
Closer to the pane I lean,
staring at my lonely face;
lost in the shadows of my heart
I see you that are gone.
My thirsty lips touch the cold window,
through the incomprehensible glass
I am unable to reach you.
Now, is my song echoing. . .
in the darkness of your mind?

Hello...can you hear me...so far away?

This is lovely, Wordancer.  You are a bright new star in the Pub's firmament.

WordDancer~
This is a well-imaged piece of melancholy moments.

I can really relate to this, nice.

Life has got to chnage,
Nothing stays the same,
Soon it will be time,
For me to move on.

Peg, you know my words well.

kcsgrandma, what a lovely thing to say...thank-you so much.

songbird, marge,& maria...thanks for the read, this was one of my first poems that I wrote last year when I started my life as a poet...of course I didn't realize that then.

"Come...dance with me, into my world of words."
