Snow Tears

As the snowflakes fall, and the music fades
unknown feelings sweep over me.
The wet of tears, rests on my lips
the taste of salt is on my tongue
as I catch the two mixing,
the skies happiness
and my own sad thoughts of loneliness
on this beautiful winter evening.
Glistening cold under the street lights
each flake falling, spiraling
landing upon the ground,
covering the old with new.

Snow tears freeze dry upon my cheeks
stained in red, the cold of hurt.
For each step taken, one is left behind...

oh my, the last line is perfect, it ties it all up and together rather nicely.  The coldness/starkness and snow and tears intermingling...layers of frozen pain...ahhh...

This is simply fantastic...I think it represents life. Life is composed of many layers of ice, some of which are shattered and painful and others which are solid and good all around.

Nakdthoughts:

This poem was a mixture of loveliness and sadness. I liked how you compared and contrasted everything. Some tears are like snow then others are hot and burning. I hope your sadness ends soon. Take care.

Oh goodness!  I just want to reach out and give you a hug!     I haven't had many 'snow tears' being from Southern Cal, but I have had many early morning tears watching the ocean waves.  Very Deep and tons of truth hidden within the lines in this one!  Superb!

Your analogy is exquisitely perfect amidst the pain....I wish for you that spring will return to your heart, as it always does. Ellie

Wynter:

Your Welcome. Well your not the only one who is moody at the drop of a hat. Me I'm the opposite, but it takes all kinds to make the world go 'round as they say. Take care.
