Silence Just silence If I speak now Then I fail… Giving light to my vanity to the endless preoccupation of words, too late I am firmly committed, a victim of my own thundering mouth. (Reprise) In my fumbling I am stumbling, to erase a fatal mistake only for pride's shallow sake, so to make amend I pretend a resolved end. welcome back brian, i hope life at college is well you have no idea how much i relate to this piece...in fact, i am constantly battling this demon...i am one of those who will unwittingly offend people with amazing ease, especially when i am excited.... i especially like these lines...they made me think only for pride's shallow sake so to make amend i pretend a resolved end |

That is a place almost everyone has been sometime, I guess. You've captured the feeling well. To love another person is to see the face of God. - Les Miserables Marilyn |

Thanks pegasus ellie kaile kcsgrandma for your wonderful comments and for taking the time to read my poems. Funny thing about this poem is that is not exactly about putting my foot in it, though I am an expert at that, it is more about the vanity of words.. I know an ironic thing for a wannabe-poet to say but some times I do feel like I am in " an endless preoccupation of words." Anyway I will shut up after that little rant, thanks again for reading and replying.
