I think
That I
May say
Goodbye
With solemn tears
In my eyes

But I'm afraid
That I fear
Losing someone
Too dear
And being gone
Over a year

To say goodbye
I cannot do
Too lamented
My loss of you
Always there
But I never knew

I could not bear
Losing you

also very effective..I like the sparse style.
keep them coming..

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

Sad...so sad, I feel it spoken softly.  Great piece.

This reminds me of graduation and saying goodbye to good friends...Leaving to come back a year later for the summer again.. Very well done..

Put simply, sad, but so lovely....

Belief is a truth held in the mind; faith is a fire in the heart.

This is a lovely, heartfelt poem. Saying goodbye, whether temporarily or permanently is always hard.. it seems so... final. Very nice poem.

Although the poem is sad, I enjoyed the read.

Thank you all.  This just seem like a good thing to write at the time.  It is always so wonderful to get amazing compliments on things from the junk pile!

Hey this doesn't sound like it come of the junk pile. I thought it was lovely

Life has got to chnage,
Nothing stays the same,
Soon it will be time,
For me to move on.
