Tries to speak No words come Watches the sinking moon And rising sun Stars fade to nothing In a sky so red Like soldiers in war And all the blood-shed Night slowly dies As a new day is born Trudges, with head down Follows the path less worn More often than not Tears should be cried But behind a weary smile They continue to hide Every now and again The path intercedes With one more worn Brings new people to meet A brief hello And briefer goodbye The sun fades Into another lonely night... With a little piece of tomorrow, You'll have to kiss yesterday goodbye. Because today won't last forever, And the past will only make you cry. |
