Tonight a challenge was given From a friend to me Asking nothing more than To write something "happy" So I opened up my browser Sat down and started to type But it's all been coming out sad No matter how hard I try I'd write about my freedom But the "state" has that key And the room that I live in Isn't one to show family I'd write about my puppy But she's far from home Living with a stranger And feeling all alone I'd write about my truck It's old and worn out I think I know the feeling Different roads, but same route So I thought about my friends The ones I call for help And still my mind was blank Couldn't write how I felt The nights almost over And I'm back where I begun I'm sorry I couldn't do it Tonights challenge is left un-done. With a little piece of tomorrow, You'll have to kiss yesterday goodbye. Because today won't last forever, And the past will only make you cry. |

Yup..sometimes it is just that way. I don't write happy myself - it is either melancholic or neutral lol. My happy poetry just sounds ridiculous... write how you feel - that's what I always say. K |

BWA I know what you mean, I can not wright happy stuff either. Most of my stuff is sorta dark. If i do wright something happy is sounds silly. I use my wrighting to work out my privet thoughs on paper. It seems the only ones that come out are the sad ones. Love all that I have read from you so farkeep them comeing. Beginnings are scary, endings are usually sad, but it’s the middle that counts. |

I enjoyed your poem even though it wasn't about a wonderful happy feeling, it did tell me that you are honest about your feelings, and doing well under the circumstances what ever they may be. You have the freedom to write what is on your mind, and you are very creative about it. You have a talent for it, and the more you use it the more it will be developed. Happiness is sort of like that too it starts with a little bit of contentment with a determination to make the most of a situation, and with little positive steps along the way, happiness soon blossoms when we least expect it. Keep writing and I will keep reading.. |
