Oh Deer--I hope you see this
I posted it in your woods,
Ever since our brief encounter
My life's not been so good!

You seemed attracted to me
To get together, you couldn't wait,
You really left a First impression--
And it's one that my wife hates!

For I was driving at the time
And hugged you with her car,
But that, I didn't mean to do
I wish we'd stayed apart!

Now my wife won't hardly speak
Unless to speak of "us,"
As if we were an "Item"
'Bout which she likes to fuss.

She's quick to remind me
"You've done this before,"
And she has caught me red handed--
I'm blamed again, o'er and o'er!

I'm sure she will get over it
Once her car fixed, has been,
But would you please do me a favor
And ne'er get close to me again!

DEER--oh dear!!!

To put together words & rhyme--and touch a life--is so sublime! Thank God for such precious contact! (D.L.White)

I hope that it was a 4 legged deer and not that old 2 legged one that roams the poetry rooms.

OH DEER !
I hope this doesn't mean what I think it means.

Oh, please say it isn't so.
And if it is - don't tell me.
I wouldn't want to know.

AGAIN ... AGAIN ... ???
No ... No ... say it isn't so.

You have to stop meeting like this!

From the Deer er
dear David just to say
I'm sorry I got in the way.
I heard you're a poet
don't you just know it,
So I wanted to learn to rhyme.
Maybe some other time,
when your wife
I won't cause such strife.
Bring paper and pen
when we meet again.
Just want to learn to rhyme, my friend,
your car I didn't mean to bend.

Wow, I must have posted this in the right place--I didn't really expect to hear back from the deer. Thanks for relaying the message, Ellie.  And Thank you all for your responses and concern.  It was indeed the of the 4 legged variety-and yes it has been my misfortune to mess up at least 3 diffent vehicles due to them here in deer-rich southern Arkansas.

To put together words & rhyme--and touch a life--is so sublime! Thank God for such precious contact! (D.L.White)

LOL...David, it sounds like you should be out walking instead of driving...now take care...and send those deer my way...I've a pasture reserved for them...

If I whisper, will you listen?...
I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound.

Dear Oh DEER Brother of mine,
In the deer....uh..doghouse again? What is a fellow to do, especially one with such animal magnetism? Sorry about the car, I'm glad you both survived! Good Poem.

Poor deer!

I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust.

I hate your socks. I'd like to burn them!
