He never meant To hurt me To let harm Come my way He never meant To leave me To let me Slip away He never meant To kill me To shelter me From the sun's bright ray He never meant To walk away To forever say goodbye Tomorrow comes, here, still, I stay He never meant To overdose To leave me without A happy new day He never meant To die that night To turn two into one Still, here he is lain He never meant To send me tears To promise "I love you" I will never again say He never meant To take me To his early grave On this mournful day In memories, both sweet and sad, we find a little piece of tomorrow. Life is hard no matter how we try, to lose someone, no matter how they go, is sadness beyond compare, no words spoken or written will comfort the ones left behind, time alone is the healer, and remember, the things we have from memories, can never be taken. Hope this was not a personal story, but if so, live life as best you can, it only stays for a little while. |

Alicia, my Mom "left" in the middle of the night and I never got to say good bye. I wonder if the angels will explain that I wanted to? I loved your poem and know I am not alone in the wonder and unanswered questions. Hugs to you, ME |
