Sitting by the window
A passenger of time
I was watching all the trees
Move quickly on by

I wasn't really watching
The road that lay ahead
It was the one driving
That was responsible for that

My seat belt stayed fastened
As around the curves we went
The day turning to evening
Our time had been well spent

Looking at schools for our future
The classes, dorms, and such
Not having a clue that that night
Would into our plans throw a wrench

When suddenly the car I was in
Made a horrendous sound
I was thrown from the vehicle
Unexpectedly becoming air bound

That was the last I remember
Of that sunny day full of life
We shouldn't have died that day
I was suppose to become his wife

The guy that hit us was in a hurry
Not paying attention to the road
Now the guilt that he'll always carry
Must be a tremendously hard load

All of our friends and family
Are walking around so sad
My boyfriend and I would've stayed home
If we knew that night we'd be dead

There's not much that I regret
Looking back on the few years I had
Except that final night
I should've called mom and dad

I should've said I loved them
And that they had helped a lot
With all of the decisions
In life, and the car I bought

There's more calls I should've made
I should've told my friends
That I'd stay with them in their hearts
If only I had known my life was to end

The only thing left to do
Is to finish going my way
To let go of my life
That ended on that day

Before I leave, I have to ask
When you're out driving about
Please obey the traffic laws
So more don't die before their times out

death of loved ones is always tragic. to lose them to senseless neglect is almost too much to contemplate. may you find peace.

I pray hun...every day...that for once...things go your way..without any regrets or loss or hurt...let me know how it goes...and if its late in coming..i'll do my best to remind the one responsible for good days..
