The election count points to
A disturbing national trend,
The Nation is evenly split,
As to who should receive the win.

Some suggest this division
Shows how far we've grown apart,
If People were more passionate,
A new civil war could start!

I, for one prefer to think,
It's the Campaigning that's at fault,
The mudslinging and many slurs,
Left the voters with nervous doubt!

As a nation founded on freedom,
We feel compelled to get out and vote,
But the information to base it on,
Wouldn't be sufficient to float a boat!

The waves of disinformation,
The swells of deceitful gust,
Set a course for this disaster,
Not a basis for reasonable trust!

I hope this very election,
Will a valuable lesson teach,
We Need Reliable, Honest Information,
Before, for the voting lever we reach!

Truth....all truth...and the poem was great!

It's scary to thing of the number of people who decide our president based on 30 second sound bites played by their opponent.  But you can't force people to be informed, can you?

Dear Dennis; You have written so much truth here tha it is scary! The only way that I can think of to make an honest campaign happen is to pass a national law that during elections, each candidate can only focus on his own issues and mud slinging be against the law! Fat chance of that ever happening!
Kudos for you, for telling the truth and telling it beautifully too!  love, sis

Sadly, this is all too true, Dennis!  How disillusioning this election has been!

I think that they are just trying to prolong all our problems...  To quote Jay Leno, "I don't know what to do!!!  We have no leader!!!!!"  LOL!  That's why I have no time to spend here.  Too worried about those elections...

It seems at this point, my brother--You are far more definitive, decisive, showing more wisdom than both major candidates.  If we could Vote again in the election--I'd be tempted to turn in a write in Vote for YOU.
