Welcome to America,
A veritable Cornucopian utopia.
All your woes and worries
Can be assuaged with the push of a button.
Our technology is so great
We don't even have to breathe anymore,
We just let the machines do it
(Which is good, since none of us can
Breathe the toxic air here anyway).
Everyone here has a car,
And they all run on something called
"Soylent gasoline."  We're not really sure
What it is, but it works great
And somehow keeps the population in check.
None of us have to work anymore -
There are machines for that, too
(Which is also good, since we've all
Grown too corpulent to move ourselves around).
Ah, America - land of opportunity,
A glorious paradise.  Welcome, my friends,
To the machine.

Hey this was simply great! i loved it.... down with society is my views on life. Obviously we have to live in some sort of happy medium but within our hearts we must not conform.

I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust.

I hate your socks. I'd like to burn them!

Conformity is a big problem, but a larger, much more dangerous one, is the idea that technology can fix any problem we have.  There are some people out there who honestly believe that technology will cure any ill we have along the way, that our mechanical and electrical genius will always step in and offer a solution.  This completely ignores environmental factors--such as how much the planet can sustain before we suffer a major cataclysm--and is probably one of the worst opinions we can have.

When I was a child....my parents made us eat Saltines....while we watched Soylent Green....this...is good...now if we could just harnes all those hyper active kids...we wouldn't need to burn fossil fuels for electricity....

Hyperactive children...there is a limitless fuel source that I never even considered...wow, that is a great idea...

I guess utopia is in the eye of the beholder. That Soylent gasoline is indeed a rather chilling idea!  Great idea about harnessing the kids, though.

Yeah...I'm rather saddened by the idea of our lives becoming so dependent and reliant on technology.  Granted, I like my computer and I think technology is a good thing, but I don't think it can make life perfect and I don't think it can solve all of our problems.
