I just noticed a short time ago That Wikket's greeted Bill Bussey. He wrote so well, he seems to know How to write, and with words he's fussy-- He chose them well, Correctly spelled Every sentence and phrase. I think I have started something That I hope will keep on running A lot longer than just a few days! I think, but still I'm not sure If I was the first to be greeting All the new poets, greater and fewer, And everyone else I was meeting... I try to do, and do well, Welcome the newcomers here, To a place that's got its own special spell And a place I now hold dear. So everyone else, why don't you attempt To stop for a while, just say 'hi' to the new? Hey, if I can do it (I'm talent-exempt) Imagine what you out there could do!  I guess you could call this a challenge, I've never given out any before, but I think it's about time I did--there are new poets galore!  Little Spyro T. Spyro, I appreciate your congeniality-- but it doesn't have to be so self-defacing. Being a welcomer, and an encourager is something of which you can be proud, I seek to do the same in another forum, myself. And you don't have to apologize for your poetic ability--remeber this is no competition, but a place to compliment each other--Your own poems combined with your Big heart, make for a winning combination! I was greeted warmly by many, you are all a gracious group, your words tell me much about each of you. Thats one of the perks of the "coot" generation. The talent I see here makes your compliments even more appreciated. I would hope I do not wear out my welcome.........bill |
