Undulating swells of green
break upon the shore,
tickling the high tide line
with creamy froth,
as white salt spray scatters,
coming to rest on gray sands.

Pressed together on blanket,
lying in shadows of ancient rocks;
the fires smolder within,
hotter than the driftwood
burning at our feet.

Your eyes sparkle brightly,
alive -
with innumerable pinpoints
of reflected blue starlight;
creamy skin glowing
like the moon high above.

Overhead, sea winds whisper
like lovers in secret tryst;
pillow talk in the sand
as tender moments of declaration
pass between us,
to be inscribed in our hearts,
then carried out to sea
by the tide.
