Words So Sweet
~*Marge Tindal*~

Those unkind words
that fell from your lips so easily
can never be taken back.

Temper your words with time to reflect
on the impact they will have on the
ears they reach.

Before you say a word
roll it around on your tongue
a time or two.
How does it taste?
If it tastes bitter
then that's how it will sound
to the listener on whose ear it falls.

If it tastes sweet, send it on.
Calories aren't counted when
it's sent with love.

Sent with love,
received with love.
It really is that simple.

Oh boy Marge, you sure gave perfect instructions with this little beauty.... It's funny how often words come back, bringing with them the sting that was felt when they were first said. Now after rolling them around in my mouth awhile...let me whisper I LOVE THIS!!!!  Bonnie

Those words we say have such an impact, for good and ill. Well stated, Marge!

Marge-
   my sweet friend...
   another reflection of that
   warm, loving heart of yours.
   such truth in these words...if
   only everyone would taste-test
   their words before delivering
   them to others.
   i'm loving this.

   big hugs,

These are lovely thoughts, Marge, and a very good suggestion.  Thank you.

I would always recommend that taste-test to all.
So glad you're enjoying it, hon.

BrokenWingedAngel~
Thanks for picking that one out -
gives me a chance to say that if we chose our words
as carefully as we counted calories, it'd be a better world by far.

Glad to know you enjoyed it, dear.

It is mentioned often in the bible that words cannot be revoked. Take for instance when Isaac was decieved and gave the first son blessing to Jacob instead of Esau. After that, when Isaac learned what Jacob had done, Esau begs his father to give him the blessing. But Isaac says that he can't because the power of the spokeen word is great.
