Waving quietly from my door
I bid you farewell
Godspeed.
You hurry off in pursuit of life
Seeking what
you say you need

“Take care!” I whispered in your ear
I love you,
I could not say
And thus, you left to find yourself
On this cold,
November day.

Winter’s chill is nothing to me
I’ve a coldness
deep inside
Never will I feel that warmth
Because today,
I know you lied.

You left to be with her again
Though you
could not say it to me
This time I won’t leave on the light
The darkness
shall set me free

Silence holds back my tears
But into my heart
they will surely fall
Saying goodbye for the last time
For good,
once and for all.

PoetdeVine~
Gosh ... this one hurts.

'Silence holds back my tears
But into my heart
they will surely fall
Saying goodbye for the last time
For good,
once and for all.'

Quite a good write, poetess.

Powerful is definatly the word. So sad too.

Sometimes you have to let go and move on,
But never let go of the memories.

This is heart-breaking, and very beautifully done.

Sharon - you sure know how to pull the strings of my emotions. With one poem you'll bring smiles, with another a sigh. With this one, you evoked tears. *sigh* This poem breathes loss lady. Very well done.

*low whistle*  Dang...You do play our emotions well through your written words...All I can say here is...OUCH!  Very well done.. BWA ..

With a little piece of tomorrow,
You'll have to kiss yesterday goodbye.
Because today won't last forever,
And the past will only make you cry.
