THE NEWS I thought it was easy to turn my back, find a warm shelter no matter the lack, away from the pain, disasters and grief when death comes a-calling instead of a birth. Like bugs to a rose the news finds my soul, unbidden, unwanted it thinks I am home as it nestles inside, sheets hurting and cold, resting weary and tired it displaces its load. My bed of contentment creeks, groans silently as my blankets of love disappear dismally to the floor of my heart, no carpet of hard, sinking like syrup into bread with no lard. My pillow of sad sinks down like a mole, my mind splattered full of invisible holes, but down from the ages the bed of day light sits orderly, neat, no creases in sight. Sly is the news, evil open and clear, as it shouts into ears not wishing to hear for inside of the stories are octopus arms strangling, stifling, with blood on its palms. With clothes cast aside, I’ll dance in the night, not touch my bed till sun sheds its light, but even in day I hear cackles of mirth for hate and ill will are living on earth. Helen |

Thank you, Jon. Sometimes I feel very alone with feelings of woe for the land I call home. Sigh! Helen |

The bad news of the world is totally overwelning at times, I find the only way I can cope with it sometimes it to stop reading the papers and turn the tv and radio off for periods of time. This well express the feeling of despair at the way of world. -Lady |

But how uninteresting and dull the world would be if everything was peaches and cream all the time. Like potatoes without the meat. the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost |

ah peg, not looking for peaches and cream, but this overwelming pain and agony that is being inflicted on the world, is really way to much. -Lady |

Hi Pegasus, Modern day thinking seems to be that potatoes and meat don't mix - we aren't genetically geared to digest the two together - but we do it anyway. Just a thought. Thanks for the response. Lady N, My thoughts exactly. Helen |

It would be easier sometimes not to know what's going on in the world, for sure. I guess we'd all like to crawl back into bed and forget it sometimes. You've done well in expressing what a scary time this is. To love another person is to see the face of God. - Les Miserables Marilyn |
