Could Be Anywhere...

I was sorting through my work this morn, getting ready for our first day in the recording studio,
and i came across this piece...

GOD's CHILD

He is my son, my brother
my responsibility
this young one, my friend.
A little, righteous skater dude
my beloved, my son
GOD's CHILD.

He walks away, looking back
waving on his way to school
his hat backward worn.
His jeans sagging, bagging
his hair cut??? half shaved
GOD's CHILD.

Our shared prayer rings
it's a praise, worship thing
this old blood is charged. like new.
Our hearts beat as one
leap in our shared zeal
warmed by faith in our Lord.
GOD's CHILD.

He is my son
he is my brother
my loan from God to teach.
pain vrs joy as we grow together.
My buddy, my friend
so different,yet so very same
as we carry His name.
GOD's CHILD!

This is great!  It is a good reminder of who our kids really are, that in fact they aren't really ours. Thanks.

Thank you each ladies!
This especially significant as
it was just a few months before
we lost our son to an ugly, unjust court
decision and had to fly him back to CA.
Which, of course was the inspiration for
Never Ending Love.  Which by the way, we
laid down in the recording studio today,
and i wept like a baby.  John Lord, our studio owner/mentor/engineer just
simply said, "that's a take" and we are
going to leave that one alone. Thank God.
