Freedom The boat that sailed in my past, has flipped over and sank at last. I still have a lot of good in me, but for some reason I cannot see. My heart that I share is precious and dear, yet, I shut him out because of fear. I came to my bed to get some sleep, This trash in my being makes me weak. I cannot rest with my mind all askew, Wish there was a way to see this through. Though I know my days are numbered, I just want to have them unencumbered. Filled with nothing, my mind has a way of tearing me apart each and every day. To be secure in who I am and who I am not, Doesn't seem to explain or answer a lot. But, it would be a grand start for healing, I just wish I had no bad or good feelings. Then the dirt would not get in my way, I could be just a robot about the day. If my mind and body would make a truse, Maybe, I might, just might, seem of use. Until medical miracles can set me free, My brain disorder will be controlling me. I dont have a character flaw, as some suspect, But this disease doesn't carry much respect. Yet, millions suffer from this affliction. We just want freedom from Major Depression. I understand that it is a terrible infliction made worse my the stigma placed on the sufferers by society. You have described very well the pain. Great poem, Beverly. Denise |

I like your viewpoint here...millions of people suffer from depression and don't know it...sometimes it's harder to acknowledge the problem too...good poem! |

Beverly - the truth your words hold!! You explain how I, myself, have felt almost my entire life. It certainly isn't a place that any of us choose to be. Take care. |

Beverly, How well you describe the feelings of one who suffers from depression. I can definately relate to the emotion here. I wish you love, joy and happiness and pray that depression no longer encompasses your life. Take care. Sheila |
