The sun broke through the darkness of my mem’ries, Its beams stretched forth like fingers o’er the room; The light brightened the mood that had entrapped me Quite determined to envelope me in a blanket of gloom. From out of the blue your words came to me...words Of caring and concern. So far away, yet so very near; I listened and momentarily forgot all the pain deep within, hearing words so soothing..disintegrating my deepest fear. Thank you, my friend., for being there to listen and then Calming me with words carefully chosen once again; Never failing to tell me how much you care , adding Those four little words..”and you know why”...I grin. Times seems so hard for me right now..the pain is real, But each day will pass and come to an end, I am told; The good Lord above knows the beginning from the end, So I leave it to Him, and my head high I will hold. So, my friend, please remember that I will always be here, Just in case the darkness should o’ertake you, or try; I will hold your hand, and listen to your fears..this I promise, And when you ask me..I will answer.....”you know why.” Twilah |
