Hiya!! Thanks for all the welcomes....means a lot * hugs and smooches to all where applicable * I was working in the first cold rain of autumn last friday...spawned a host of dreary poems...my apologies...I wrote a ton ...but will share slowly... Later all Sol  Have you ever seen an oak tree? After autumn rains... After winter's icy grasp... Has clawed and caused it pain... I have... We had an outside cat once... We simply called her Kitty... mangled, broken, scarred, and bruised... But the tomcats found her pretty... how sad... The thing about the oak tree... and the ever pregnant Kitty... Though scarred and hurt, they turn their heads... And look at me with pity... I'm bad... See They didn't really want me... No idea what to do with me... That's the thing of winter solstice... More dark than light to see... |

I thought all of your poem was good, but these stanza's are my favorite! "We had an outside cat once... We simply called her Kitty... mangled, broken, scarred, and bruised... But the tomcats found her pretty" and this: "The thing about the oak tree... and the ever pregnant Kitty... Though scarred and hurt, they turn their heads... And look at me with pity..." Great stuff! |

Thanks folks...FYI about Mama Kitty (( her full name )) She was a real cat..one of those orange marmalade types...blind in one eye..three legs..half a tail...athsma..half an ear...and very ....easy*L* Still....she was a good cat, always happy to see us...and we her...though not when she'd bring us " gifts " take care all.. |
