The years, they passed by slowly My soul began to bloom False friendships in my past faded For my heart had no more room. You came into my life suddenly We connected on the first day Our instant bond was frightening But we let it scare us anyway All the incredible goodness in you Made me forget about my checkered past I thought I could hide it from you I knew it wouldn’t last I was sure you would take off running When you heard about who I used to be But in fact you didn’t go anywhere You stayed right here with me… I think about the man you are And it fills me with hope inside My insecurities about mothering Have all been replaced with pride Because someday there will be another man Who I am raising to be dignified like you Who will see beyond the surface of a soul Making his friendships always true Your friendship is invaluable You will forever be inside my heart Trust that you can always find comfort there Even if our roads were to ever part… "And I still believe you can never have too much fiction because reality is such a bore..." - REA |

Beth; I love the way you've written this beautiful poem, with so much depth and inner searching of your own truth. Lots of hope in your words, hope for this relatonship? love, Mom Summers haunting melody that awakens the butterflies, calling them to join the dance in their silent song of praise to God. eL |

Beth~ This write is just so refreshing. 'Because someday there will be another man Who I am raising to be dignified like you Who will see beyond the surface of a soul Making his friendships always true' It's a great thing to give our children the gift of knowing how to be a true friend to another. Wonderfully said, my friend. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Wow! This is great Lady Lost. I've never done this before, but I just have to send this one to a friend. Thanks for helping me say what I so need to say to him. Dawn |
