Two In A Bush

The man of the hour
stands at the podium;
a neatly pressed smile
glitters at flashbulbs.

Spewing his pabulum
into upturned faces,
they digest his filth
like Christmas dinner.

"Remember dear,
chew your lies twenty times
before swallowing."

Glad-handing manipulator
who always forgets
the microphone is still on -

"No problem.
Call damage control,
and dance the two-step."

"A kinder, gentler America!"
resounds through the hall.
Back home, another number
feels the prick of the needle.

Daddy is sitting at home,
proud as a peacock.
His boy -
following his steps.

Wow!  Slick words for an adoring crowd.  Say the lies they want to hear.  This poem has really gotten to me.  I hope I didn't misinterpret it.

Just my humble interpretation of George Jr. But don't misunderstand, I don't like Gore either. LOL!

Thank you for reading
