It is the time of Autumn's < !signature-->stealing the summer away, as the sunsets earlier, and nights grow longer. As darkness descends, so a quiet prevails, no longer do the crickets sing their summer song, instead a soft rustling of dry leaves, as a magical mist forms in the cool of autumn's eve, and the scent of wood smoke pervades the misty air. A gentle frost covers the still green grass of summer. Moonbeams dance upon the dewy frost, or is it frost? Be very still, and watch, very, very closely. Is it frost or fairy dust? Do not let your eyes deceive you, for fairies love to spread their dust in fall, on misty nights when the moon is full. They play in crispy colored leaves. Tis not the wind that makes them rustle so, but fairies calling you to play with them, among the fallen leaves. As the moon sends beams of magical light, to set the fairy dust aglow among the frosty glaze, your heart is young, as you believe they'll grant your wish, if you sing their autumn song! Summers haunting melody that awakens the butterflies, calling them to join the dance in their silent song of praise to God. eL [This message has been edited by ellie LeJeune (edited 09-08-2000).] |

Mommm!!!! I LOVE this!! I am so sorry I didn't see it sooner. This is, by far, the most beautiful poem you have ever written!! I feel magical, too, after reading this!! As a matter of fact, the fairies are all talking to me now!! (or that could be sleep deprevation...haha)..I love you Mom Love, beth < !signature--> "And I still believe you can never have too much fiction because reality is such a bore..." - REA [This message has been edited by Lady Lost (edited 09-15-2000).] |
