At home it's always labor day
No sick leave, days off with pay
No holidays, but some work must be done
To keep things in an orderly way!

No filling out a time card
But many hour spend, many that's hard
To keep things going on the homefront
In the house and in the yard.

No union board to protect her
For many claims she'd have, sure
For endless hours of services rendered
"Hey Mom, when we gonna have dinner?"

The Hubby's home at 5 or so
Done for the day, oh don't you know
But her work just keeps going on
Where's the gratitude for her to show?

Labor day at home is all the times
Let's honor them as true heroines
"My wife don't work-she stays at home"
Is one of the biggest lies of all times!

Here's to the Women- we honor you today
For your loving unselfish ways
Your labors of Love are oft taken for granted
But you deserve our utmost Praise!

WOW- another day of life-and here among friends!
Ain't God Grand!

David~
Well-deserved praise.
May I add -

Hubby is content
Kids are glowing with your love
Good things come around

A labor of love
Without drawing a paycheck
Check the dividends

Blessings flow within
The house turns into a home
Woman's prayers answered

Great piece David..well said. where would we be without them?

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

David, What a lovely tribute and how nice to know that some men somewhere think the way you do.

David; Thank you, Thank you! I spent 25 years at home, raising the children etc.
This is a tribute that is well deserved and many women will love you for writing it.
Love, ellie

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

David,
Your words honor the often forgotten, Those taken for granted, Who rarely complain but take care of us day in and day out! My hats off to all the hard working mothers and wifes that make our lifes livable and rewarding. May we never forget! Nice poem Dave!

Very nice tribute! It isn't often enough that those who labor at home get the credit they deserve!

David, this was so thoughtful of you...something that I've come to expect from you though, how kind a heart to honor so many women who go unnoticed and unappreciated. Thanks for this one.   Marcy

Written so well!
