Library of A Long-Past Me

A bulging tome containing
   square roots, gray roots,
   sandbox play and foreplay.

One bellied volume showcasing
   sibling's nightmare unease,
   childbearing pleas, winter shut-ins,
   spousal's emotional shutouts.

A ledger of accounts crediting
   yesterday's transparency,
   debiting tomorrow's itch.

Unproductive,
   gathering dust,
   used as props under
   the weighty history
   of another still fertile,
   able to speculate on mine.

I'm not sure what you were trying to get across, but from what I got out of the poem, this is very, very well written...and if I were the one "still fertile", I'd have a sense of shame and unease after seeing this...

With a little piece of tomorrow,
You'll have to kiss yesterday goodbye.
Because today won't last forever,
And the past will only make you cry.

Upon/after my death, would my life appear interesting to others?  In my opinion, probably not, hence the last verse...that my history could prove useful in showcasing another's more exciting life.

I think that's what I was trying to say with this poem. *grin*

As we each write our 'book of life' we wonder if anyone will remember. I guess that's one reason I write - somewhere, someone will remember me I hope. Like this one a lot!

I write so that people may see a piece of me that might not be easily seen on the surface

No doubt you will be remembered. You write so well
