I woke up before the dawn of the day Before the flower buds opened to play I woke to the smell of paint oozing out of the tube And canvas a full of dried strokes I woke to the sound Of criticism still ringing in my ears I woke to my soul weighing me down I woke and crawled to the masterpiece Masterpiece? No. Just scribbles, dribbles, and a mind wanderer's painting Not an artist's. I woke up thinking of perfection And how it wasn't me at all I woke with a palate in my mind and a finished wonder, a beautiful thing to lay eyes upon up in my head When I reached for the brush, the image burst Colors running after water splashes them hard! It's hard to begin this morning When I can't see an end Gather ye rosebuds while ye may, Old time is still a-flying, And this same flower that smiles today To-morrow will be dying. -Robert Herrick |

Hey, now here's something any artist (especially Casey, long story) would appreciate! Beautiful job Joy!! And yeah mornings can be long...but one part of an artist's morning is the sunrise, and I don't like that to end too soon. Little Spyro T.
