Crashing orchestra, symphonic noise! On the stage, the conductor's poised! Guiding the band in their musical war! For the audience all to hear and adore! LISTEN, all of you in the crowd! CHRISTEN, the music played so loud! SEE, what we have done is this; WE have all delivr'd a kiss; A BOND with hand and soul combine! A WAND to guide the sound divine! A HEART to write the song today; A START anew in how we play; The SOUNDS of all, performing as one-- The POUNDS of drums!-- ...until we're done. ________________________________________________ The leader puts the wand away; And keeps it for another day. Heard the sound of crowd's applause Yet cried, and cried, without a cause. ________________________________________________ "The leader of the band is tired and his eyes are growing old, But his blood runs through my instrument, and his song is in my soul; My life has been a poor attempt to imitate the man, I'm just a living legacy to the leader of the band." -Dan Fogelberg ----- I don't know where this came from, but I think it sounds kind of okay...what do you think? Lil' Spyro...where did this come from? I can actually hear the band playing. I envision a band playing the National Anthem and me wishing all of the soldiers who had died for me were around to hear it played so intensly. Great Work! Always great to try something new! |

i have to agree with janet "it came from the excellence known as your creative mind..." i think this poem could be takin in many different ways depending on your individual situation. "The leader of the band is tired and his eyes are growing old,But his blood runs through my instrument, and his song is in my soul;My life has been a poor attempt to imitate the man,I'm just a living legacy to the leader of the band." i dunno that kind of makes me think of a son trying to follow in the footsteps of his father. GOOD JOB |

Little Spyro, more than anyone else, YOU know why he was crying: the emotional release of the performance, the catharsis of pouring your heart out in front of an audience... those are feelings you are quite familiar with. Great onomatopoeia here! You can really hear the CRASH and BOOM of the percussion. Somehow, although the poem is about a whole orchestra, it reminds me of a smaller band: three people, one on a keyboard, one on guitar and vocals, one on bass..... Keep the good stuff coming!
