If I could stand behind your eyes I wonder what I'd see Would I see the man who stood so tall and straight that you surrendered your destiny The man who heat your body fired your soul awakened your instinct for motherhood Is he there now behind your eyes or do you see a stranger there aged by time and trial and redundancy by failure and indecision do you see a man confused uncertain of his role who has abandoned passion and adventure Is there love there for the partner you chose so long ago or just frustration with your lot in life a routine, mechanical So mechanical that it runs by itself without conscious thought Which man do you see I wonder which man is there behind your eyes. the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost |

I'm not sure if I'm extracting from this its original intent. I sense a feeling of capture and surrender, the beast that was is now no more...Lost the reasons from which love blossomed, and I hope that in someone elses eyes that I only change for the better. Thanks for the read, it deepened a look at something I don't peer into often. |

I'm sure most of us can relate to this...wondering how others see us and how we stand up to the memories of the past. Very good! Denise |

The only way to find the answers here is with some good healthy communication. Let's just hope that love is truly blind! Beautiful poem with meaningful insight. ellie Summers haunting melody that awakens the butterflies, calling them to join the dance in their silent song of praise to God. eL |

Pegasus, I could really relate to this poem, I just recently found out what the eyes saw from the other side, it surly wasn't the picture I thought. Anyway nice writing here. |
