Is it truly the healing that happens-- Or is it the way one's mind forgets... We are left with scars our gentle reminders But we choose not to see the marks Upon our flesh, we find it clear Upon our souls, relected fear ...Does it truly ever heal Or do we choose simply to forget, That we might enable ourselves to live again? That is what i ask; Do i take my foot out of the fire that my hand may have a turn-- I wonder... --dgvarner "Half of what i say is meaningless; but i say it so that the other half may reach you." -Kahlil Gibran |

DgV, Forgetfulness is a relief....temporarly, but forgivness is a true blessing. you see , once we forgive the problem is no longer ours. We can move on with the memory, but no longer with the hurt, I hope you can find this place. Dennis :^) Moonbeams radiate When the veiling cloud has passed Playful shadows dance Dennis L. White :^) |

dg, You do like to ask tough questions, don't you? My feeling is that we are usually slower to forget the emotional hurts than the physical ones, perhaps because the wounds are deeper. If you choose to try again, it's not because you don't remember the pain but because the thing you want to pull out of the fire is worth the risk. Just remember to use your resources to protect yourself next time. To love another person is to see the face of God. - Les Miserables Marilyn |

thought-provoking poem....i dont think one can ever forget but since time helps to smoothen the blows on our battered soul....perhaps we wont feel as emotionally disturbed when we recollect our awful times...hence the healing happens cos we dont feel as emotionally attached to those bad memories and are able to face life again.... Just my humble opinion though btw, i did click on your profile and i dont think you have posted a second tanka here....Hmmm |
