No, I'm not dead. Just reallly, reaaallllllly busy of late. I've been posting in Open 6, because I've been feeling a lot of big emotions breeding big poems. Here I like to share the more idiosyncratic stuff, and that doesn't happen unless I'm well rested! So lord knows how I wrote THIS thing. Thought the "freestyle" label provides a clue: I just put a recorder up to my lips and rambled something before I fell asleep. Mike -they're seeds, see?- freestyle Foreign -- sure -- enduring reminder of love. Alone in bed, clutching my recorder to my face, in my hand. Lips lightly against the speaker. It's a way to fend off feelings. A realization of strength. A loneliness sometimes preferred. The flowers of words, their blossoms and their thorns. Among a crop a poet can garden, Seeds of dreams. Acres of soil. But to grow you need sun. This poet will gladly step out of the shadows for that. |

hi there! i`ve read your poem a few times already and i`m still not sure i completely understand but for rambling i`m quite impressed. i love the line -"it`s a way to fend off feelings" (kind of impossible to do even if you try.) |

poetic ramblings late at night... well, we will take inspiration when ever it comes..this was very good... "But to grow you need sun. Another Heather, That's the beauty about rambling; it doesn't have to make sense. I understand, but then again, I'm the rambler. Cerenity, Thanks. But I'm still too young to hole myself away just yet (which implies that when you're older that's okay? disagree there, too). Just imagine what a breath of fresh air and a few hours in nice, not-too-hot sunshine in a big, sunny open field can do for you once in a while! I've had the luxury of doing that sometimes, just going over to a nice field and getting lots of rest and ideas! Thanks for reminding me of that, Mike! And by the way, great job!  Little Spyro T. Appearing out of nowhere to reply to this old thing. Little_Spyro, Glad I could inspire your memories. And always glad when you like one of my things. Corazon, Sunshine burns, too. Surface warmth doesn't mean warmth inside, anyway. Despite the exterior at whatever temperature, I think it's best to be warmed inside. |
