O Mother, dear Mother What am I going to do? There is trouble a brewing Of this I don't kid you. There's a skunk in the shadows of the dumpster, And it's got my poor heart all a flutter! Did you see how big he was? Oh no! He went under my car, Now I can't go anywhere I'm stranded here right where I are! 'Cause there's a skunk under my car of all places, And it's so Unnerving that I have to face this! O Mother, dear Mother Just make it go away, I've enjoyed my visit But I didn't want to stay But there's a skunk lurking out there in the shadows, And I didn't come prepared to do battle! Oh I wish it would go away At least that's what I think, What's that Mother, what do you say-- I'm the one, raising all the stink??? 'cause there's a poor bewildered skunk in the yard, dear, And he'll give what you deserve from what you've done here! If more tolerance we could give Then those different might have a chance And then all the commotion would subside- We'd be free from this 2-scent dance! Why do the skunks get all the blame, when in fact we do the same? |

wow! you really twisted that into a thing at the end there! this is a great one--i love the way you wrote it with such humor, when in fact, it is quite a serious issue..and true that if we quit making a "stink" about our differences, the difference will fade away.. great work! dg "Half of what i say is meaningless; but i say it so that the other half may reach you." -Kahlil Gibran |

David; LOL! What great humor and with a twist of wisdom, thus adding a "sweet smelling" moral to the story! And wasn't it fun to be a "virtual reality" witness to the whole incident! Great job with this, we were glad to provide the in-scent-ive! love,Sis< !signature--> Summers haunting melody that awakens the butterflies, calling them to join the dance in their silent song of praise to God. eL [This message has been edited by ellie LeJeune (edited 07-30-2000).] |

David...LOL!!! You know that I wasn't serious...you crack me up. Because of that darn skunk it took me 30 minutes to get in my car!! I thought it was our black and white cat at first...I was about 2 feet from picking her up!! ACK! Anyway, great poem...you are certainly a creative individual!!.......beth< !signature--> You can never have too much fiction; reality can be such a bore [This message has been edited by Lady Lost (edited 07-30-2000).] |
