Allan~ May the road meet you Lined with good friends to greet you Warmed by morning sun May night hold you deep In the quilting of sweet sleep With dreams unfolding ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Thanks Michelle and dg! And dg, I'm pretty sure Desiderata by Max Ehrmann was at the back of my mind when I wrote that particular line... Edit: In fact now that I re-read it it is almost a direct quote - 'Desiderata' reads 'Be gentle with yourself' (Whoops!) [This message has been edited by allan (edited 07-31-2000).] |

allan..thanks for the extra read--enjoyed it almost as well as YOUR poetry (at the risk of sounding ignorant tho..what is desiderata??) dg "Half of what i say is meaningless; but i say it so that the other half may reach you." -Kahlil Gibran |

dg, not sure if you mean the word or the poem... desiderata the word: the plural of de•sid•er•a•tum which is something wanted or needed. (Same root as desire I suppose). Desiderata the poem: You'll find the explanation at the bottom of this page. Thanks again! Dennis: Wonderful wonderful haiku - thank you |
