he wasnt on the other side of town he was on the other side of life... thats what i've been trying to tell you! he didnt just go for a walk out there he went to punch his time-card. i could see it in his eyes-- the gloom behind the smiles. the jokes to cover the pain, the laughter to hide the shame... he told me once, he didnt choose to check-in-- when he checked out, he kept the key... -dgvarner "i speak in written word--my lips, no sound may utter..." dgvarner |
