Alone in a sea of jesters, with words of mockery her only companion, the bloated resigned duckling retreats to a forlorn corner, where dusty webs reign and bats cry havoc, clinging for the solace that never comes, pleading for the kind words that remain unsaid She despises herself- the would-be swan of OBESITY |

kaile, a powerful poem, I remember when I was once the fat swan. It is painfully ironic considering the story of the ulgy duckling who became a swan. This makes the poem sting even more. Take care my friend and maybe this poem is not a personal account but the emotions are so real and powerful, if it is hang in there, you are a graceful swan. Take care. Hugs. why must we pray screaming? why must not death be redefined? we shut our eyes we stretch out our arms and whirl on a pane of glass-patti smith |

Kaile, This poem rains with sadness, at least that's what I see, and I hope my eyes are seeing wrong, and that my mind has went on vacation. If not all I can issue here is this: {{{{{{{{{Hugs}}}}}}}}}}} Life is too precious to worry what others think. It's you that matters, what you think and how you become a beautiful swan within your own thoughts. |

so what! Aslong as this swan has a spirit "fat" with god"s love what else matters? You have a gift from God for writing incredibly beautiful poetry, that touches all of our hearts here. I also appreciate all your wonderful replies to my poems. Love, ellie Summers haunting melody that awakens the butterflies, calling them to join the dance in their silent song of praise to God. eL |

Kaile~ The swan of your poem is a beautiful creature. God doesn't make mistakes. He sometimes camouflages the beauties of the world in special feathers. The 'jesters' of the world will be called to atone for their unkindness. I think your thoughts point out the injustices that are done to many ... in the name of 'jest'. It is a sorrowful plight to be the object of such jest. I believe you've shown us a compassionate side to your thinking. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Ooh... when I saw 'bloated resigned duckling' I was hoping it was that! A duckling, and she'd turn into a beautiful swan. But you said she's already a swan, and there's nothing more left to imagination. I guess all she can do, is swim around the lake and work that fat off which is what I should be doing... _,,,^.^,,,_ |
