Metaphoric Mirror

I looked into the metaphoric mirror
and saw it's rebounding reflection,
behind me a mountain lion
with tail slugging,
knocking sense into reality.
The intensity of his vibrative roar
practically shattered
every tiny reflective aura for miles.
It was a shameless frozen state of fear
as with his bounty of strength
he lunged towards my being
and careened through
the metaphoric mirror,
shattering my frightened illusion
into tiny fragments
of loose knitted stitches
that never became a product of success.
Lying on the yarn scattered floor
with reflective pieces of me shattered
giving simple glimpses
of where I've been
and how metaphorically absent
my life has been.

Reality hits hard sometimes..You describe it so perfectly in the poem...it really is a great piece.

You can never have too much fiction; reality can be such a bore

Yes I think it is time I started looking into mine and seeing what i can find. One word for the poem "excellent."

After writing such a great poem I think you deserve a nap or at least 8 hrs sleep.

ditto the rest...gosh, Gloria, this must be one of the best poems i have seen from you so far...i am not really sure i fully understand but still, this is breath-taking work

i dont agree with brian...you should seize the moment and continue to spin such yarns for us since your muse is on such form!!
