most of my poems seem to be tragic don't they? but i guess beautiful things seem to reach out to me with their arms of sadness! so ... is sadness a beauty?? maybe, cos we always manage to survive and emerge stronger...this is to fellow sufferers *sob* be strong!!!! love, michelle ------------------------------------------- Its been forever And a day Since I watched in horror As you slipped away From my trembling fingers Lost to the clutches of death I've been living in my world Ever since In a whirl of songs and poems Wishing never to walk out Of the thick walls I've built But it's only in my dreams Somewhere in the mist Then I see you smiling at me Spinning my world round Keeping it strong and going Words can't express my sorrow For basking in your love Then I grow strong Facing new challenges To make you feel proud of me For my future For myself Suddenly my third eye opened Embracing what I had And cherising fond memories The pain of the past subsides Emerging stronger I no longer hide Reminiscing yet living in reality The warmth and sweetness of your love Lives in my heart still But its only in my dreams I still reach out to you And I know you'll always be there for me Bit by bit I go up the steps Someday in heaven I'll embrace you there Live in my heart and soul For one day we shall be together In the meantime shine for me But its only in my dreams If there cannot be equal in affection, then let the one with more be me - midnightblues™ |

You're poem is beautiful...I have been moved to tears. My good friend, Rick, just died last week in a car accident. I have been having a hard time expressing my emotions, your poem did it for me..thanx! |

michelle, I am reminded of the image and theme in the book the "Torture Garden" where people are horrifically tortured in a beautiful garden this makes the pain and torture worse but also the beauty more evident. Yes I believe that there is a beauty in sadness, that slight silver lining under the darkest cloud. Suddenly my third eye opened Embracing what I had And cherising fond memories The pain of the past subsides Emerging stronger I no longer hide Reminiscing yet living in reality The warmth and sweetness of your love Lives in my heart still But its only in my dreams I still reach out to you And I know you'll always be there for me Bit by bit I go up the steps Someday in heaven I'll embrace you there A very beautiful poem, thank you for sharing. MB, this IS really tragic in a way that I cannot percieve as of now. I just like the way that you started out dark and then how it transitions to a lighter side (ie that of recovery).  Hope to see some more soon!! --Chibi |

i love the way you've made a decision to go on and let this pain become strenght for you. You have managed to turn this sad poem of love in to a beautiful tapestry of wisdom and longing. Thank you so very much my friends! I feel so glad that you liked it......frankly speaking I do not think highly of my poems cos most of them are so simple. I'm really touched by all these *S* btw this was inspired by the song 'only when i sleep' by The Corrs....i guess some of u might haf guessed......and a composition that i wrote when i wuz 12 yrs old......THANK U means so much...u din haf to.....but u did...Thanks, guys!
