I didn't write this but thought I would share it with my friends in the PUB. ENJOY! In Japan, they have replaced the impersonal and unhelpful Microsoft error messages with their own Japanese haiku poetry, each only 17 syllables, 5 syllables in the first line, 7 in the second, five in the third. ------------------------ Your file was so big. It might be very useful. But now it is gone. ------------------------ The Web site you seek Can not be located but Countless more exist. ------------------------ Chaos reigns within. Reflect, repent, and reboot. Order shall return. ------------------------ ABORTED effort: Close all that you have worked on. You ask far too much. ------------------------ Windows NT crashed. I am the Blue Screen of Death. No one hears your screams. ------------------------ Yesterday it worked. Today it is not working. Windows is like that. ------------------------ First snow, then silence. This thousand dollar screen dies So beautifully. ------------------------ With searching comes loss And the presence of absence: "My Novel" not found. ------------------------ The Tao that is seen Is not the true Tao--until You bring fresh toner. ------------------------ Stay the patient course. Of little worth is your ire. The network is down. ------------------------ A crash reduces Your expensive computer To a simple stone. ------------------------ Three things are certain: Death, taxes, and lost data. Guess which has occurred. ------------------------ You step in the stream, But the water has moved on. This page is not here. ------------------------ Out of memory. We wish to hold the whole sky, But we never will. ------------------------ Having been erased, The document you're seeking Must now be retyped. ------------------------ Serious error. All shortcuts have disappeared. Screen. Mind. Both are blank. Moonbeams radiate When the veiling cloud has past Playful shadows dance Dennis L. White :^) |

excellent haiku. thanks for sharing made me laugh, but it is true. Computers user friendly? maybe the biggest oxymoron of all. great haiku, well I would enjoy it if it referes to Taoism. ------------------------ "I've been too honest with myself I should have lied like everybody else"-Richey Edwards "Take nothing but pictures. Leave nothing but footprints. Kill nothing but time". Baltimore Grotto "Libraries gave us power Then work came and made us free What price now for a shallow piece of dignity" Nicky Wire, A design for Life. manic street preachers "Rock 'n' roll is our epiphany Culture, alienation, boredom and despair" "To be nobody-but-yourself-in a world which is doing its best night and day, to make you everybody else - means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting." Dennis, As a lover of haiku, especially yours, I have enjoyed this posting immensely. I think I will have to put some of these into use for favorite friends and their ... wonderfully efficient.. computers.
