He strikes her in the head and she stumbles to her knees. The deadly blows continue despite her fervent pleas. She shakes him in an effort to silence his piercing cries. Screaming, "I can't stand it anymore", still shaking him as he dies. What manner of love is this, that inflicts painful death? How can you claim to love them as they take their final breath? He strikes her down in anger, there's nothing she can say. Dinner wasn't what he wanted, it was her fault he had a bad day. He needs the comfort of his mother, maybe to be diapered or have food. He's far too young to understand her foul and angry mood. What manner of love is this, that inflicts painful death? swamp and dgvarner - thanks for the comments. This particular subject bothers me immensely but I really never thought about writing about it. The words came to me as I tried to sleep.
