This reminded me of an Crosby Stills Nash & sometimes Young tune---

"Find the cost of freedom,
buried in the ground...
Mother Earth will swallow you
lay your body down..."

Thanks for the reminder.

Very few words says it all.  We seem to have our hearts in the same place regarding our freedom.  maybe from different countries, but the same heart and opinions just the same.  Well stated!!!

Chillingly true, Marge.
Freedom is very expensive...never free.
You express that beautifully here.

Love and hugs,

Though intended for the fourth of July, this is also a good reminder on Memorial Day.

I pray that I will never feel those tears roll down my cheeks. How terribly sad for all. In light of 9/11, this was particularly touching Marge. Thank you for sharing. Hugs, Marti

Thank you all so very much for the wonderful thoughts this little piece brought to your hearts~

As our U.S. soldiers serve all over the world attempting to afford others some semblance of freedom ... may we be ever-mindful of their duty and the sacrifices~

God bless all of them in their endeavors~
May they know that we support them in their duties~

Merry Christmas to ALL U.S. Soldiers and thoughtful appreciation to the families of those who served and gave all~
