The St. Valentine Romance

Quietly, on Puss’n’Boots feet creeps in
the memories of sweetheart’s day long past,
memories of friends and long lost loves,
how the time has trickled by so fast.

Because the truest of hearts now stays my mind,
I can only reminisce on memories kind
of gold foil chocolate boxes, cards and flowers,
and ardent love under floral arbors.

Where did I think I was adventuring to,
and who did I think would fill my life with bliss?
Oh, the rambling thoughts of memories
finding a form of truth in every kiss.

Looking back, no remorse in my soul,
knowing that a life’s mate was one of my goals,
and while not a goal formed in black and white,
I know sincerely I’ve found my soul’s light.

Still, today, St. Valentine brings a special mood,
lovers who resolve to find a special groove,
and with only one lover on my mind,
this will indeed, be a very special St. Valentine’s!
