The Good News

The little snowbirds
Are all in a twitter.
I'm sensing excitement
In each little critter.

If I'm not mistaken
In what I've heard said,
"The Christ Child is coming
With manger for bed.
The mother cow told me
I know that it's so
For she gave her warm stall
To Him long ago."

The cattle, the sheep and
The horses as well
Are bursting with news;
They've a story to tell.
"On this Christmas Eve
The whole world should rejoice."
Is the message I'm hearing
From each eager voice.

The birds know the reason
And the wild creatuares too
Why we celebrate Christmas
As you and I do.

"He is the reason for the season."
