Does It Ever ?
~*Marge Tindal*~

Does it ever snow in Bethlehem
and did it on that night ?
So if it didn't - then how come
lots of people think that it takes snow
to make a Christmas bright ?

I need only the story of The Babe
laying in a manger bed,
to give me thoughts of the Christmas gift
dancing in my head.

A starry night in Bethlehem,
eons and eons ago,
lit by the warmth of angel's breath
brings to me all the thankfulness
my heart needs to know.

Snowflakes falling or palm trees swaying
can't make a difference you see.
Only the sound of angelic surround
singing that sweet Babe to sleep.

Christmas for me is in knowing,
that in a manger with cattle lowing,
one special gift was placed
our sins to erase
when Baby Jesus smiled.

Nice. You're right. Jesus makes CHRISTMAS, no matter what or where the surroundings may be.

HI Marge,

This is lovely, Christmas is about Jesus and the forgiving of sins and a new chance, some times with all of the hoopla you feel like they buried the true meaning, wonderfully beautiful, thank you for sharing.

Love, Cerenity

My friend...no truer words were ever spoken and you did it beautifully as I knew you would.  That is why I throw fits when I see the word Christ taken out of Christmas and replaced with an "x".  I love snow but I don't need snow to feel the warmth of this special day and this year I am treated to the love of our friendship as well.  Hugs to you my friend.

I love it!
It almost never snows here in Texas at Christmas time.  It never snowed in Southern California nor the South Pacific, where I was mostly raised, either.
Let's not forget the reason for the season.
God bless you for a wonderful poem!

Lovely Marge.  Yes, I was one of those who thought Christmas had to have snow but have dropped that childish viewpoint for the true meaning of Christmas.  Loved reading this one.  Love, Joyce
