Merry Christmas Baby
2001
~*~

The Christmas tree is decorated in silver and gold
all the gifts are wrapped in lovely perfection
with wrapping paper scattered in every direction
kitchens a mess from baking all night
got flour in my hair and makeup everywhere
still in my PJ's and two loose socks
got company coming in an hour or two
kids lost my hairbrush and have no clue
I'm sure I look a sight for sore eyes
but low and behold to my surprise
hubby's got a gift just for me
with mistle toe hanging high over head
he grabs me and gives a really slow kiss
tells me he loves me, flour and all
I smile and giggle
then filled with tears, I begin to ball
crying and laughing from the joy of it all
with floured face and racoon eyes
I whisper I love you, with all my heart
Merry Christmas baby...

Aw, it's so realistically sweet. With my hair still undone, I had wrapping paper and gifts on the kitchen table yesterday just an hour before serving dinner and was thinking, "What a mess!"   I did manage to get all in order before the doorbell rang, though.   Merry Christmas!
