Was It Santa?

I saw him just the other day,
When shopping at the store.
I watched the little children,
Trail him all across the floor.

He had a beard of snowy white,
And a toque upon his head.
A bent old pipe in his pocket,
And suspenders of Christmas red.

He wasn't too tall.
And he had a big belly.
As I stood there and watched
I felt sort of silly.

For I wanted to run over,
And ask him his name,
To see if he and Santa
Were one and the same?

But I'm sure in my heart,
That it could have been him.
For he left the store
With a wink and a grin.

Lisa,

My family has a Christmas in July celebration every year, complete with the Christmas wrapping paper and all the Christmas cookies. It is a lot of fun and we especially like it because takes some of the financial pressure off the December month.

I really liked this one. A fun read. Very nicely done and I never thought that just maybe there could be a Christmas in July hehe.

I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust.
