"it burns so quick, then it must be america" - Liz Phair

I see America
so distant--so cold--
not what the history books painted.
I hear it was found
  by Great Men
  --and even Greater Wives--
but I don't see them here.
whose going to step up?
who can lead us?
a country ignorant of its own flag
  until you burn it,
they don't know freedom--
Will Rogers was right!
we have it all
  but can barely taste it.

Shut up in my bones;
I was weary of holding back,
And I could not.

Yea I really liked this one too. Really well done here. Impressive work.

I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust.

I'm in love with my shadow
I admire it daily

Thomas Jefferson said there has to  be some bloodshed for us to realize how much freedom we have.  I am just sick of all these ignorant "Americans" who have never seen life in other less fortunate countries.  I grew up where you were killed for your religion.  And to me freedom of religion, is the freedom to pray, and Yet America denies me this freedom, because they don't think it's 'proper'.  If we don't exercise our rights, our country will die...  There's so much I can say (But i don't want to start a war!), I love colonial America, I hate modern America.
