What can I give? What can I do? I have so little to share, For a gift for you. These thoughts came to me one season. I had little sources I thought. When I realized the best gift of all, Was not one which I had bought. The baskets of things I had made From my kitchen and from my heart. Or the gift book containing coupons Of which you could tear apart. Trips to the store when you're homebound Or a spring cleaning for a day An offer to take the pet to vet Or a car tune up along the way You usually had the necessary things And that made it hard, so I thought You said I had the perfect gift for you, But it wasn't the one that I bought. |

Lovely! A good thought too! Sometimes we need to stop being so materialistic! |

May I add that you may have forgot one little gift, companionship? A simple letter of sweet thought, does not need to be bought, but surely the best form of friendship. |
